Bubble Storytime with PR Public Library

Preschool Storytime heads outdoors every Wednesday at the Willingdon Beach Pavilion. Families with preschoolers can reserve a “bubble” and come out to enjoy puppetry, rhymes, singalong songs and of course stories. We’ll be celebrating Pride this week with a fabulous special guest: drag queen Conni Smudge!

Drag Bingo & Talent Show at the Carlson Club. BBQ, $10 cover, prizes. Limited seating. Under 19 ok with a parent until 10pm. Must be 19+ to drink (2 pieces of ID) or to stay after 10pm

“Who gave her the mike?” Look out and let loose with Pride hostess and diva Conni: live by the lake. DJ Minerva too. Wear your best drag or rainbow pride, for a chef’s treat!

Bring your picnic and join us on a local trail for a LGBT2QIA+ history scavenger hunt! Eat your dinner along the trail as you find the answers to the questions. Prizes for the most successful groups!

Fri Aug 6, 6 pm Picnic with button making

Bring your own food and drink, and a blanket or lawn chairs, and have a queer-focused picnic with us! We’ll have a button maker set up for you to make pre-designed or custom buttons to take away (by donation).

Mon Aug 9, noon Flag raising at City Hall

The rainbow flag will be raised on the flagpole at City Hall. We’ll also have a variety of other Pride flags available for anyone who wants to hold one for the flag raising and the photos afterwards.

Wed Aug 11, 7 pm Craft night at Cranberry Community Hall

LGBT2QIA+ folks, friends and family: Bring your craft and join us for a social evening of making stuff, along with crafty “show and tell”. What kind of crafts? Anything portable and not too messy is welcome!

Macrame, beading, felting, knitting, crocheting, drawing and sketching, embroidery, jewelry, small leatherwork, digital art, needle felting, cross stitch, Kumihimo, weaving on a portable loom, origami, hand sewing and quilting, mending and repairs, whittling and carving, papercrafts, paracord, lino cutting, beer can models, basketry, painting small items & models… did we miss anything?

All ages welcome: there will be a kids activity table, to keep them out of your hair for a while as you work on your own crafts. Lots of table space!
